Today is the last
day before we begin our pilgrimage to the Holy Land; seminarians are packing,
last minute shopping, and taking the time to spiritually prepare for this
trip. We are anxiously waiting for
tomorrow to arrive.
In our last class
before taking off, we learned about the spirituality and mentality of a true
pilgrim. One important point was about the pilgrim’s stance toward the
trip. It should have one’s openness to
God. Unlike a tourist, the pilgrim is not looking to consume experiences, but
for the experience and encounter with God to consume the pilgrim. So, as we
prepare for our departure, we are preparing our hearts to the openness to God.
Please continue
to follow us as we post blogs on our travel to the various holy sites of this
pilgrimage. Please keep our pilgrimage
and our theology class to remain open to God’s promptings in your prayers, and
know that we will carry all the prayers entrusted to us to the Holy Land and
ask God’s blessings upon all our friends, families, benefactors, and all that
we meet.
